Antique French Gilt Bronze and Cut Crystal Three-Tier Centerpiece by Christofle Et Cie. It dates back to the 19th Century. 

The piece features an intricate blend of ormolu (gilt bronze) and finely hand-diamond cut crystal. It consists of two large, shallow crystal bowls and a tall, slender trumpet-form vase at the top, likely intended for floral arrangements. The ornate base is supported by two finely sculpted mythological sea creatures or mermaids, which hold up the central stem. 

 

Crafted circa 1875–1880 in France, such surtouts de table were used as grand centerpieces for serving fruits or sweets during formal dinners. Christofle & Cie, founded in 1830 by Charles Christofle, is synonymous with luxury French silverware and was a pioneer in electrolytic gilding and silver plating techniques.
