Bronze sculpture depicting a young athlete by a Geran sculptor. It dates back to the 19th Century and is from the foundry: Friedrichshagen, Germany.

The artwork depicts a youthful male athlete at the precise moment of maximum tension and balance, just before he releases the discus. His body is twisted into a powerful, coiled pose, designed to express potential energy and the dynamic movement of the throw. This depiction was revolutionary for its time, capturing a fleeting action in a static medium. The figure is nude, in keeping with the tradition of ancient Greek athletics and the celebration of the ideal human form (kalokagathia—the harmony of mind and body).

Piece is stamped: AKTIEN-GESELLSCHAFT-CLADENBERCKBERLIN-FRIEDRICHSHAGEN and measures: 13" x 8-1/2" x 3-3/4". It is ready for display.
