Ornate 19th-century Russian Empire-style gilt bronze and quartz urns. They are also described as cassolettes in the French Louis XVI manner due to similar stylistic elements.
The urn bodies are made of a swirled, caramel-colored onyx or quartz stone with light and dark brown variations. They feature extensive gilt bronze (ormolu) mounts. The lavish accents are in the Empire style, popular in Russia during the 19th century.
